Work Experience Requirements
In July, all Year 12 students will be expected to take part in a week’s work experience. It is the student’s responsibility to research and secure the placement. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and transferable skills which will enhance their future prospectus.
Students will be supported throughout and will have access to previous placement companies, provided with a precedent letter / email which can be tailored to their individual application.
Deadlines set by the Careers team must be adhered to; to allow for necessary paperwork and checks to be completed. It is also the student’s responsibility to answer emails and TEAM queries from the Careers team.
Take a look at the lovely comments and feedback about one of our students who has just been placed at The Harris Partnership.
What our students say about their Work Experience placements
I learnt about how the club works on the inside. I learnt how sponsors worked, how they filed invoices, how the individuals all worked together and finally how much of a big ‘family’ the club is.
I really loved meeting all the staff, they were incredibly nice, it was an amazing experience!
What our employers say about our students
Matthew is a polite young man, his behaviour, attitude, and time keeping cannot be faulted. He is enthusiastic, picked up the work quickly and was a great help covering the workload during annual leave.
Lewis’s attendance was 100% and his openness to learn and behaviour was exceptional. A great opportunity that Lewis grabbed with both hands.
Dominic has been punctual, polite, has asked lots of good questions and has shown an interest in the products and applications.
Sulaimaan, I just wanted to say, what an absolute pleasure it has been to host you at Daisy this week, on work experience. You are a credit to your school. Charlie was telling me last night all about your outstanding attitude and work ethic, and we have no doubt that you have a very bright future ahead!
The feedback from the team working with Franklin this week has been exceptional.
Work Experience Requirements for Medicine
For those students who are interested in Medicine, it is advisable to partake in an online work experience scheme in order to help satisfy the UCAS application requirements. This can also help students to develop their insight and demonstrate their motivation to studying the medical university course.
The Leeds School of Medicine have lots of interesting information on their webpage for applicants which may answer some of your questions, click here.
Work Experience Opportunities
CareerDays offer plenty of work experience opportunities too, such as Architecture, Law and Midwifery courses.
