Results 2014

We are thrilled with the performance of our Year 11 students in their
GCSE examinations.  At a time when results are declining nationally and locally, Woodkirk students have been rewarded with some outstanding outcomes.

An incredible 77% of our students achieved the ‘blue ribbon’ standard of a minimum 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths, with 96% being awarded at least 5 A*-G GCSE qualifications.

These headlines do not highlight the most important aspect, which is the progress students make from their starting point.  92% of students made the expected progress in English, with 86% doing so in Mathematics.  This outstanding progress is an indication of the commitment to each student, regardless of ability, at Woodkirk Academy.

Steve Alleston, Chair of Governors, said “Another tremendous set of results that have exceeded all expectations.  Within these results are hundreds of individual personal achievements, delivering that little bit extra to be the ‘best you can be’.  A massive well done to all the students for this fantastic achievement and praise to their families, the Academy team and all who have supported our students to achieve their goals.”
