THE ACADEMY IS CLOSED.

The weather forecast overnight continues to predict heavy snow. In order to allow parents plenty of time to arrange suitable childcare arrangements, notification of the school closure was shared on Thursday 9 March. All lessons will be diverted onto Microsoft Teams and will be delivered live by teachers.

School closure – snow.  

When school is closed due to poor weather, students should join remote lessons.  Most lessons will be delivered live by the normal classroom teacher.

THE SCHOOL DAY

1. Students will follow their normal lesson timetable.
2. Break-time as normal at 11.15 – 11.30 am.
3. Lunch-time at 12.30 – 1 pm.  This is for all year groups.
4. There will be no Form Time, meaning the school day will start at 9.15am and finish at 3pm.

ACCESSING LESSONS

1. Lessons should be accessed through Microsoft Teams. Students should go to the Team channel for their lesson.
2. At the start of the lesson, the teacher will open a meeting. Students should join the meeting as soon as they see that it has been started.  
3. If the teacher doesn’t start a meeting immediately, students should be patient and wait for 5 minutes. 
4. If the teacher still hasn’t arrived and started the meeting, students should click on the link HERE and use the folder ‘Snow day – 10 March’.  
5. Students may have done some of these tasks at the start of February; they should take their pick as to which subject to study for the hour making sure it is one that has not been done before.
